Support Groups

The ASCC’s monthly support groups are open to parents, professionals, and anyone who wishes to attend. Our support groups are a great place to network with other parents and share your ideas or concerns.While every group focuses on a specific age range, parents of children of all ages are welcome to attend all support groups.  Find a support group meeting to fit your busy schedule.

Parent Education Program

Circle of Parents

Circle of Parents meets every Thursdays  from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 pm at the Partnership for Children (PFC) Resource Center, 351 Wagoner Drive .  Focus:  Families of young children with ASD ages 0-5 years.  Free childcare is provided  See our Calendar for the next available meeting.

Autism Breakfast Club (ABC) Support Group

This group consists of parents, caregivers and professionals of newly diagnosed and/or preschool-elementary age children with autism. The Autism Breakfast Club (ABC) Support Group will meet every first and third Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. at the PFC Resource Center, 351 Wagoner Drive.  Childcare is not provided.  See our Calendar for the next available meeting.

Autism Lunch Club (ALC) Support Group

This group consists of parents, caregivers and professionals of middle school age children to adults with autism.  Meetings held at various locations at 11:30 a.m.  Childcare is not provided.  See our Calendar for the next available meeting.

LEGO Club

Through play, parents discover how to interact with their child that promotes communication, problem-solving and fun-centered learning. Each meeting has a common building theme so everyone can participate and time set aside for students to explain what they built. Neuro- typical siblings are encouraged to attend and will be asked to promote social interactions with students on the spectrum.

iPads for Autism

Have on-site access to iPads and Autism specific applications! Learn how to use and enjoy the iPad by using autism applications such as Social Express, Injini, Proloquo2go, and Model Me Going Places for one hour sessions. These  sessions are offered on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:00 to:4:00 pm.

High Functioning Autism Social Group

The group was established to help young adults on the spectrum increase and strengthen their social interaction. We welcome parents, caregivers, and young adults with HFA to join us for this exciting opportunity. The group meets the 2nd Monday of alternating months at 5:45 pm in the Partnership for Children Building

High Functioning Autism/Asperger (HFA) Support Group

This group consists of parents, caregivers and professionals of children and adults with high functioning autism (HFA) and Asperger Syndrome.  Meetings are held every second Monday of the month, September through May, except in December, at 5:45 p.m. at the PFC Resource Center, 351 Wagoner Drive.  Childcare is not provided.  See our Calendar for the next available meeting.
